The Mercan Properties group has laid the foundation stone for the Lagos Marina Hotel project, which will be the target of an investment of 107.8 million euros.
This project in Lagos will result in two hotels: the five-star Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, and the four-star Hilton Garden Inn Lagos.
The construction phase, which is expected to last for around two years, is estimated to create around 150 jobs. The future operationalisation of the assets, which will be carried out by AHM – Ace Hospitality Management, is expected to create approximately 188 jobs.
With an opening date scheduled for 2026.
The future Lagos Marina Hotel will have 180 rooms spread over four floors and a total area of 14,776 square metres. The hotel will have a restaurant and two bars, one of which will be located on the terrace with an infinity pool, as well as a spa, fitness facilities and a second pool on the ground floor.
The Hilton Garden Inn Lagos will have 90 rooms, 27 of which will be suites with kitchenettes, with a total gross area of 7,505 square metres. Facilities such as a bar, restaurant, self-service shop with 24-hour service, gym and outdoor pool are also planned. The hotels will also have meeting spaces, as well as more than 160 parking spaces.
This investment will have an economic impact and is anticipated to attract high-end tourists and property investors, further solidifying Lagos' reputation as a prime destination in the Algarve. The development is expected to stimulate local economic growth through job creation and increased tourism revenue. The presence of internationally recognized brands like Hilton is likely to elevate the city's profile among affluent travellers seeking luxury experiences
Lagos is already known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and rich history. The addition of these hotels is expected to enhance the overall tourist experience by providing high-quality accommodations that cater to discerning visitors. The unique architectural design and focus on integrating natural landscapes will complement the area's existing attractions, such as Ponta da Piedade and the historic old town.
